Lac Cameron runs about five and a half kilometres end to end, a kilometre or so across at the widest, and has no islands in it.

It sits in the township of Amherst, eighteen kilometres west of Mont-Tremblant, at about 220 metres. The bottom drops to roughly 40 metres. Lac de la Décharge lies immediately east, and the system drains into the Maskinongé.

The lake has its own environmental protection association, one of several that sit under a federation covering the township's lakes. There is a public dock.

How this one was made

Not wall to wall, so the dam follows the waterline about half an inch out and the flood runs along the shore. Cameron bends through the middle of the board with a shoreline that is busy without being fine, so the pour went in steadily rather than slowly. Maple has the least sanding margin of anything we use, so the seal gets the attention. The compass, the type and the pin are separate sections out in the bare wood, each dammed on its own.
