Six sizes, from a 5x7 desk piece to a 24x36 statement wall. Every board is made to order in our Mississauga, Ontario shop.

Choose your wood and frame
The map itself is engraved into real wood veneer, not printed on paper. Choose from three species:
- Maple. Pale and even. The highest contrast against the engraving, and the easiest to read from across a room.
- Cherry. Warm reddish tone that deepens with age. Middle ground on contrast.
- Walnut. Dark chocolate brown with pronounced grain. The engraving reads as a lighter line against it.
Then choose one of five frame finishes: maple, oak, walnut, black matte, or white matte.
Choose your layout
Your body of water decides the composition. We pick the layout that reads best at your chosen size and tell you which one we used when we send the mockup.
Lake
The whole body of water fits within the frame, wood on every side. Suits lakes with a closed shoreline that reads clearly when scaled down.
Coastline
The water carries past the edge of the frame rather than being contained. Suits ocean frontage, rivers, and the Great Lakes, where fitting the whole thing would shrink the shoreline detail past the point of recognition.
Island
Land sits at the centre with water breaking every edge. Suits islands, peninsulas, and archipelagos.

Frequently asked questions
Can you engrave any lake or body of water?
If it can be found on Google Maps, we can engrave it. Lakes, rivers, reservoirs, bays, islands, and ocean coastlines, anywhere in the world.
Which size should I choose?
The 12x16 is our most popular and works as a single feature piece in most rooms. Go to 16x20 or larger if it is hanging above furniture, or if your lake has a complicated shoreline with a lot of small islands and inlets that you want readable up close. The 5x7 and 8x10 suit desks, shelves, and gallery walls.
Does a bigger size show more detail?
Yes. We engrave the shoreline at the largest scale the size allows, so a 24x36 resolves inlets, islands, and channels that would be lost on a 5x7. If your lake is intricate, size up.
What can I have engraved on it?
Along with the map, we can engrave a family name, the lake or place name, GPS coordinates, a compass rose, and markers for specific spots such as a cottage, dock, marina, or fishing hole. Tell us what matters and we will lay it out on the mockup.
Is the wood real?
The art panel is real maple, cherry, or walnut wood veneer over an engineered wood core, so the grain you see is genuine wood. The frame is a finished moulding available in five colours.
Can it hang vertically?
Yes. Two sawtooth hangers are fitted to the back panel, so every size hangs either way. Tell us your orientation when you order and we will compose the map to suit.
Is it glass?
No, it is 1/8" clear acrylic. It is lighter than glass, safer around children, and will not shatter in transit.
How long until it arrives?
Roughly 2 to 4 weeks from the day you order. That covers 1 to 2 business days for your mockup, 1 to 2 weeks of production after you approve it, and 3 to 6 days in transit.
Do you ship to the United States?
Yes. We ship across Canada and the United States, typically 3 to 6 days in transit with tracking.
How do I care for it?
Dust the acrylic with a soft dry cloth. Avoid solvents and abrasive cleaners, which will haze acrylic. Hang it out of prolonged direct sunlight, as you would any piece of art.
Can I return a custom piece?
Custom pieces cannot be returned, which is exactly why we send a mockup first. Check it carefully before you approve it. Our standard warranty still covers defects in manufacturing and workmanship.
Prefer the resin version?
Our custom epoxy lake map board takes a different approach: the water is a hand-poured tinted resin inlay set into the board rather than an engraved line, and it hangs unframed. One size, 16" x 10.5".
