There are two kinds of water on this board. The Atlantic fills one side. The other is a scatter of shallow lagoons hiding behind a strip of sand.
Those fragments are the Delaware Inland Bays — Rehoboth, Indian River and Little Assawoman — three interconnected lagoons sitting behind the barrier beach. They are estuaries, where fresh water running off the land meets salt pushed in through the inlets, and that mixing makes them extraordinarily productive. Hundreds of species use them, and for fish, shellfish and migratory birds they work as a nursery.
Bethany Beach was founded in 1901 and sits on the sand between the two. It is one of ten towns making up what Delaware calls the Quiet Resorts, and the name is not marketing alone: ball games and kites are off the beach during peak hours.

How this one was made
This board runs both extremes at once. The Atlantic is a single large pour going right to the edge, so the whole perimeter is dammed before any resin goes down. The bays on the other side are the reverse — the lagoons and their connecting canals break into hundreds of tiny pockets, each one somewhere air can lodge with nowhere to travel out. The big pour is the easy half.
