True North - Wood & Gold Phone Case

True North is a collaboration with Northern Philosophy, a Toronto-based lifestyle brand, built around their geometric take on one of Canada's most recognizable symbols. The name works two ways at once: true north as in the Canadian anthem, and true north as in the direction every compass is really chasing. The case puts Northern Philosophy's gold "True North" badge front and center on a split cherry and wenge background.

The background is divided diagonally between two woods: warm, pinkish cherry on one side and dark, near-black wenge on the other, so there's contrast built into the case before the badge even comes into play. Centered over the split sits a gold acrylic diamond engraved with Northern Philosophy's logo: a faceted, geometric maple leaf built from sharp angular planes, with a compass "N" marking true north at the top. The gold catches the light against the matte wood, and the black engraving keeps the leaf crisp and legible. Because the cherry and wenge are real wood veneer, the grain and the exact line of the diagonal split vary slightly from case to case.

Each piece is made by hand in our Mississauga workshop. The cherry and wenge veneers are finished with a semi-gloss coat before being laser-cut, the gold acrylic badge is engraved with the logo before assembly, and all the pieces are fitted together like puzzle pieces and pressed flush to the case back. The result keeps Northern Philosophy's design sharp while grounding it in real wood. Available for all current iPhone and Samsung Galaxy models, with integrated MagSafe magnets and a soft microfiber interior lining on iPhone 13 and newer.
