The Explore wooden phone case is a heritage-badge nod to that part of life: a mountain range, a pair of crossed axes, and a single-word reminder to head out the door.

The Explore is built around a heritage outdoor badge centred on a walnut backer. Maple chevron lines fan out at the top and bottom of the case, framing the central illustration: a mountain range cut from wenge with maple inlays for the snowline and bright peaks, the word EXPLORE in maple set just below, and a pair of crossed axes in wenge anchoring the bottom of the badge. Three wood species work together to render the scene: walnut for the warm background, wenge for the dark mountain silhouettes and axes, and maple for the bright highlights, chevron lines, and lettering. Because every piece is real wood veneer with its own grain, no two Explore cases look exactly the same.

Each veneer is finished with a semi-gloss protective coat before being laser-cut, with kerf compensation tight enough to keep the mountain silhouette, lettering, axes, and chevron lines seated cleanly against the walnut backer. The cut pieces are then assembled by hand in our Mississauga workshop, fitting together like puzzle pieces, and the completed design is pressed flush to the case back so the surface stays smooth under your thumb. The Explore sits squarely in the outdoor aesthetic that has been part of Keyway since the beginning, leaning into the heritage badge tradition that runs through generations of national park signage, expedition patches, and trailhead markers. Available for all current iPhone and Samsung Galaxy models, with integrated MagSafe magnets and a soft microfibre interior lining on iPhone 13 and newer.
