Shipping Delay

SHIPPING STRIKE

Notice to Keyway Customers:

[UPDATE, August 26, 2016]: After 9 months of negotiations, the CUPW and CanadaPost have failed to reach an agreement. As of Aug 25, 2016 the CUPW has issued a 72-hour strike notice. Both sides are currently sitting in mediation in a final attempt to reach an agreement. In the event that an agreement has not been reached by Sunday, Aug 28, 2016 their could be a work stoppage.

Unfortunately, this means that we will delaying the shipment of any orders taken after Aug 28, 2016 until the strike has been resolved and we can once again guarantee fast and efficient service.

In the meantime, we will still be collecting orders as normal, but we ask that anyone who chooses to order during the strike to expect much longer delays. The strike could last anywhere from 2 days to a month, and sadly it is completely out of our control.

All orders placed between Aug 28, 2016 and the end of the strike will be shipped at the earliest time once the Postal system is back up and running.

We will continue to take steps to move into a new shipping system throughout this delay.

We appreciate your continued support through this little hiccup, and we hope that the CUPW and CanadaPost come to a speedy resolution.

[UPDATE, July 11, 2016]: CanadaPost has withdrawn their 72-hour lockout notice, and the CUPW has said that they have no plans of issuing a 72-hour strike notice. The two parties are back at the bargaining table and are working towards a solution. While there is still no solid agreement between the two, in lieu of these advancements, we are going to begin shipping again until further notice.

[UPDATE, July 5, 2016]: CanadaPost has submitted their 72-hour lockout notification. Both sides remain hopeful that a deal will be reached within that time-frame but complete mail-stoppage could begin by Friday.

[UPDATE, July 2, 2016]: CanadaPost workers have a proposed a new deal. The union representing the post workers,CUPW, says they’ve presented Canada Post with a few new offers and will not strike before Wednesday July 6th. At this time the Union has not been locked out. Since the shipping window between now and the 6th is so small, we will be continuing to hold off on order shipments. For those of you that have chosen to place your orders during this delay, we that you for your patience and we will get your cases to you as quickly as possible once this Strike/Lockout situation has cleared up!

[UPDATE, June 22, 2016]: As you may or may not know, our main shipping carrier, CanadaPost, and it's workers, the CUPW, will be in a Lockout/Strike position as of July 2, 2016. Unfortunately, this means that we will delaying the shipment of any orders taken after June 22, 2016 until the strike has been resolved and we can once again guarantee fast and efficient service.
